Microstructure refinement-homogenization and flexural strength improvement of Al2O3 ceramics fabricated by DLP-stereolithography integrated with chemical precipitation coating process

Abstract In this study, the chemical precipitation coating (CP) process was creatively integrated with DLP-stereolithography based 3D printing for refining and homogenizing microstructure of printed Al 2 O 3 ceramic. Based on novel approach, powder coated a homogeneous layer amorphous Y , found to make ceramic more uniform refined, as compared conventional mechanical mixing (MM) powders. The grain size in Sample CP is 64.44% 51.43% lower than those monolithic MM, respectively. has highest flexural strength 455.37±32.17 MPa, which 14.85% 25.45% higher Samples MM AL, respectively; also Weibull modulus 16.88 among three kinds samples. Moreover, fine grained close thermal conductivity coarse because changes morphology 5 12 phase from semi-connected (Sample MM) isolated CP). Finally, specially designed fin-type heat sinks were successfully fabricated via process, been proven be an effective method fabricating complex-shaped components enhanced reliability.
